Bible Study

We have Sunday School classes for men, women, and children on Sundays at 9:30am. Please note that there will be no classes on Sunday, 5 September, which is Labor Day weekend.
Come and join us at Crossroads for TableTalk, which is an open Bible discussion that ordinarily meets on the third Friday of each month at 8:00pm. Bring your questions or come to learn. Please see Kevin Franco or Pastor Mike for further information.
Please come join us on Wednesday nights as we study the book of Psalms. Our focus is on the first half of Book I, which comprises Psalms 1-41. No Hebrew required! We meet in the sanctuary at 6:30pm. We will study Psalm 22 on 1 September and Psalm 23 on 8 September. Please note that a new series will begin on 15 September which incorporates the book Crazy Love by Francis Chan. Further information regarding this series will be available soon.
In October, we will have a third adult Sunday School class (in addition to the men's and women's classes). The class will cover basic Bible doctrine and use Christian Beliefs: Twenty Basics Every Christian Should Know as curriculum. If you have any questions, please see Kevin Franco or Pastor Mike.

Children's Ministries

We have a staffed nursery for infants and preschoolers as well as children's church for grades K-5 on Sunday mornings.

General Announcements

Our weekly deadline for announcements for our bulletin and website is Thursday evening. Please send any new announcements via email at info@crossroadshillside.com or place them in the orange folder marked "Bulletin" in the church office.
We are updating the church directory. If you have never completed an information sheet or if your contact information has changed, please complete a new one and place it in the offering plate or turn it in to Theresa Thompson. Blank sheets are available on the table in the hallway.
Our deacons and elders ordinarily meet after Wednesday Night Bible Study on the first Wednesday of each month (approximately 8:00pm).
If you are interested in water baptism, please see Pastor Mike or Theresa Thompson after any of our morning services.
If your home was affected by the flooding which occurred this past summer, you can apply with FEMA for financial assistance by calling 800-462-7585 or by going to http://www.disasterassistance.gov.
All are invited to the 9th Annual Christocentric Conference which will be held on Labor Day weekend, Friday-Sunday, 3-5 September, at the Lord Jesus Christ Assembly in Indiana, PA. This year one of the featured teachers is Pastor James Ford of Christ Bible Church of Chicago (formerly South Shore Baptist Church). Please note the following:
- The conference and lodging are free for all participants; free rides are also available, if needed (a caravan departs for Pennsylvania early on Friday morning). If you wish to attend, please see Kevin Franco; a headcount is needed for lodging and rides.
- For further information on the conference, including a schedule and teaching topics, please go to http://www.lordjesuschristassembly.org.
Health classes will be held from 9:30am to 10:30am on the following Saturdays: 11, 18, and 25 September and 2 and 9 October. You will learn to breathe deeply, stretch, and move. See Marian Williams if you have any questions.
New ministries are being launched on Sunday, 12 September. See the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the hallway.

Men's Ministry

The men's Sunday School class will resume on 12 September which is the first Sunday after Labor Day weekend.

New Members' Class

A new members' classes are periodically held for those interested in church membership. If you have questions about becoming a member of Crossroads, please see Pastor Mike or Theresa Thompson.

Outreach

Join us as we participate in The Bridge ministry on Tuesday, 12 October. We will meet at the church at 5:30pm and ride to Lawndale Community Church together. If you have any questions, please see Mike Bashor.
On Saturday, 30 October, we plan to bless our neighborhood with the love of Christ via Reverse Trick-or-Treating. More information will follow soon.

Women's Ministry

The women's Sunday School class will resume on 12 September which is the first Sunday after Labor Day weekend.
Mark your calendars! We plan to attend the True Woman Conference at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, IN, which will be held from Thursday, 23 September, through Saturday, 25 September. Early registration is taking place now! Please see Stephanie Franco or Nora Hedges if you are interested in attending. Please also see this link for further information.

Youth Group

During the school year, our youth group meets on the second and fourth Fridays of the month at 7:00pm. We are using Experiencing God: Knowing and Doing the Will of God: Youth Edition, a study guide by Harry Blackaby and Claude King, for our curriculum. Young at Heart

Our ministry for those 55 and older is ordinarily held on the second Wednesday of each month at 11:30am at the church. Lunch is served potluck style. Should you have any questions, please see Mattie Walker.
